This cool little 12″x7″ Phattie snare features our exclusive Puzzle Glass Glitter wrap under chrome full-length tube lugs and 2.3mm hoops. The shell is a thin 6-ply maple with Evans HD batter head and bronze snare wires. The result is a very articulate drum with a ton of pop, and very few overtones. Here’s a sweet little 14″x7″ Phattie Acrylic Snare that features a Starglow acrylic shell. With the lights off it’s a smooth glossy white, but with the lights on it glows smooth and even like nothing else out there. Check out the video for an example of some of the controls. All black-chrome hardware, a TRICK GS007 strainer, and Evans heads wrapped up this one nicely, dig it:
This is the second custom snare recently built from this material, and the results are again more than expected. Built for a local drummer who’s been using a maple 14″x6.5″ and was looking for something more aggressive. The shell is 14″x6″ and 1/16″ thick with rounded bearing edges. It’s tricked out with a Dunnett MicRo Throw-off that features a quick release feature for quick head changes without having to take off the snare wires. Ten solid-brass tube lugs and bronze snare wires complete the package for a great sounding snare drum. It also looks pretty smooth with the brushed lacquer finish, check it out:
Today’s kit features a subtle touch that makes all the difference: inlayed steel hoops. This Phattie kit features 10″x8″ and 12″x9″ rack toms, a 16″x16″ floor tom, and a thumping 20″x20″ bass. Wrapped in True Black Glass Glitter with chrome hardware all around, and inlays on the 2.3mm chrome hoops.
