The latest addition to the Copper Collection is this dark “Distressed Acid Etched” finish. Featuring black undertones with shiny streaks of copper between them, it has a much more earthy and dark look than the Blue-Etched and Drip-Etched finishes. Featuring a 10-ply maple shell in our popular 14″x7″ size, this Phattie snare sounds as good as it looks. Phattie 13″x7″ White Sparkle with black accents & hardware

The 13″x7″ has recently become one of our most popular sizes. The slightly smaller diameter with a little more depth makes for a great sounding blend of attack and depth. This one has the good looks to keep up with the sound, featuring a white sparkle wrap with black gloss inlays. Black hardware with 50% offset lugs are the perfect compliment for a smooth modern look. Steam Bent 14″x7″ Maple Snare Drum, Paua Abalone Inlays

Another drum that doubles as a beautiful work of art has rolled out of the shop! This 14″x7″ snare drum sounds every bit as good as it looks, featuring a 1-ply maple shell with 1-ply reinforcement rings that support a wide bearing edge with a full round over. 1-Ply steam bent hoops are the perfect upgrade and give the drum a nice fat sound and a timeless look. Custom touches include 1/4″ Paua Abalone inlays in the center of the shell and both wood hoops, brushed-satin finished hardware and matching stainless steel fasteners all around. A Dunnett R4 strainer with quick-release, Evans heads, and Puresound wires complete this package. Check it out:

Nesting Cocktail Kit with some Custom Shop touches

Today’s Nesting Cocktail Kit features some touches from the Custom Shop that turn it into a real head turner. Sizes include the standard 10″x6″ snare, 10″x8″ rack tom, and 16″x24″ cocktail drum. Custom touches include a beautiful Burnt Sienna satin lacquer with a light fade that continues onto the yamaha-style wood hoops. The nearly seamless nesting feature blends right into the finish, and tube lugs replace the usual Radio King style lugs for a modern vibe. Check out the last photo for the contour cut spacers used on the floor tom leg brackets, airbrushed to match the fade on the shell. It’s all about the details, and this setup pulls them together into a beautiful package that fits into one bag.

On the heels of a fair bit of abalone inlay work we’ve done recently comes a beautiful Phattie Hybrid snare that features more than just an inlay. Featuring a 13″x8″ shell made up of two maple sections and a clear acrylic center, the 10-ply maple is finished in real Paua Abalone shell for a beautiful look unlike anything else. Complimenting the stunning finish are solid brass tube lugs, a Trick GS007 strainer, Puresound snare wires, stainless steel fasteners and our precision craftsmanship. The 14″x7″ Phattie 10-Ply maple snare is a true workhorse and one of our most popular sizes. It tunes up easy and has a great range, a perfect blend of sensitivity, attack, and tone. This one classes things up with a deep Modern Mahogany satin lacquer complimented by natural maple inlays under the tube lugs. A great example of our custom wrap abilities and unique hardware, this 14″x8″ Phattie delivers on all levels. The wrap is a custom glass glitter designed in-house. A blend of vintage style and modern printing abilities. The 4mm steel cold-rolled hoops are a great compliment to the wrap, a touch of vintage with the hoop profile and a dose of modern with the claw design. These hoops are available as an option on all Phatties from 8″ through 16″, and give a more open sound that regular 2.3mm hoops but with the durability and tuning range of die cast hoops. 14″x5.5″ Steam Bent Walnut with a touch of Abalone

The natural depth & color of walnut makes an outstanding background for a thin 1/4″ pinstripe of Paua Abalone. This 14″x5.5″ snare features a steam bent 1-ply shell, solid brass tube lugs, solid brass single-flanged hoops and a Dunnett R4 strainer with quick release ends. The bearing edges feature a full round over for a very old school and warm sound. This drum also features all stainless steel internal screws, something I’m doing on most snares now. Check it out:
