Featuring a 10-ply Maple VSS shell, this snare had a great combination of body and attack. The 12″x7″ and 12″x8″ snares have been pretty popular lately, with their blend of small diameter and depth. Tuned up nice and high they provide quick articulation for fast playing, and a deeper sound than a traditional piccolo snare. This particular one features a red sparkle wrap with gloss black inlays, black-chrome hardware, and full-length tube lugs. Red and black, always a classy combo:

This sweet little kit is on the road with the Eli Young Band, working as a perfect kit for their acoustic sessions. This kit featured a 16″x24″ cocktail drum, 10″x6″ snare, and 10″x8″ tom, the standard Deluxe setup. You can learn more about the Deluxe setup by checking out cocktaildrumsets.com, and you can hear a new youtube sound clip of the Deluxe setup here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDSOigplvRw

Here’s a conversion project we recently finished up, creating a rare sized bass drum. It’s a Ludwig 17 inch field drum/tenor from 1971, converted to a little jazz/bop bass drum. Building the 17 inch bass hoops was a challenge, but the end result is great. Check it out:
