This Friday Flashback dates from early 2006. This jungle/hip-hop/dj-drummer style kit features a 10″x6″ Hybrid Snare Drum, Lime Acrylic 12″ snare, 10″ and 14″ toms, 18″x18″ bass drum and matching woofer. Custom features included all brass hardware, 50% offset lugs, Gauger Alloy RIMS mounts, matching woofer, brass-wrapped bass hoops, and Dunnett R-Class strainers. StarGlow Acrylic Custom Phattie Set

A beautiful example of StarGlow acrylic, this one comes with a video sample so you can check how smooth and even the glow of our low profile LED systems are. The drums are standard Phattie Acrylic specs: dual 45 degree bearing edges with a smooth contact patch, solid brass tube lugs, Gauger Alloy RIMS mounts, Evans heads, etc. The sizes include 10″x10″, 12″x11″, and 13″x12″ hanging toms, 22″x18″ bass and 14″x7″ snare drum. This custom LED install includes double-density LED’s and a custom controller that offers independent control of individual channels. The final result is a smooth looking kit, with or without the lights on. Check it out:

Phattie Hybrid Kit, Black Glass over Starglow Acrylic

Today’s kit is a sharp looking set of Phattie Hybrids. StarGlow acrylic centers combined with our LED lighting provide for an awesome effect against the black glass glitter and black hardware. The sizes on this custom setup include 8″x8″, 10″x8″, and 12″x8″ rack toms, 14″x14″ and 18″x16″ floor toms and a thumping 22″x20″ bass drum. Pearl Optimounts were used on the rack toms, and custom machined to fit Yamaha tom brackets that were powder coated black to match. Other custom touches include a full DMX controller with built-in light board, black Gauger Alloy RIMS cradles, a deep-dish front bass hoop, and Phattie Custom Shop badges placed discreetly so they don’t interfere with the light show. Funky Phattie Hybrid for Friday

Sometimes a color combo comes out even sweeter than I’d hoped! This hybrid mashes a purple acrylic center with red sparkle and looks killer. Specs: 14″x6″, 10-ply maple sections with a 1/4″ thick acrylic center, solid brass tube lugs, Trick GS007 strainer, puresound wires, all the standard goodies. Good way to start off the Friday:

Here’s something worth making a weekend post about: A 7-piece Clear Acrylic Phattie kit with full DMX controls. This kit features 10″x8″ and 12″x8″ rack toms, 14″x14″, 15″x14″ and 16″x14″ floor toms, a 20″x18″ bass and a 13″x7″ snare (not pictured). Built using RCI clear acrylic shells and brushed-satin hardware, this kit delivers in both sounds and looks. The ultra low-profile LED install was designed, wired, and installed in-house for maximum brightness while keeping an almost invisible presence when not in-use. Once the kit is setup with stands and cymbals, you’ve got no idea what’s coming until it powers up! Phattie Hybrids with Quick Action Drum Lugs

This fresh set of Phattie Hybrids features the new Quick Action Drum Lug all around, with custom RIMS mounting and bass hoop lugs. The Quick Action Drum Lugs are a quick-release style lug that works different than other quick release lugs on the market. Once all the tension rods on a head have been loosened, you just turn the hoop to the side and they all slide right out of the lug. This system is also designed to not interfere with the RIMS mounts. Heads can be removed and swapped while the drum stays on the stand, no problem! The lug inserts stay on the tension rod when the hoops are removed, preventing the tension rods from sliding off the hoops, getting lost, etc. This function is the same on the bass drum hoops, when the hoop comes off the tension rods can’t slip out of the hoop lugs, they stay attached, making head swaps a piece of cake. Phattie Hybrid with an LED twist

It’s early Monday morning, and if you’re a drum fanatic that needs a cup of coffee to get moving, the video below just might work for you!

This kit is a Phattie Hybrid Series that features 10″x8″ and 12″x9″ rack toms, 14″x12″ and 16″x14″ floor toms, a thumping 22″x20″ bass, and a matching 14″x8″ snare. The finish is Broken Glass Glitter with lightly frosted clear acrylic inserts and classic tear-drop style lugs holding it all together. The lighting system was created in-house, and features multiple channels of control allowing different drums to be different colors, and greatly expands the light-show possibilities and programming options of the kit. This kit features a unique blend of options, for a broad range of setups. The rack toms are 10″x7.5″, 12″x8″, and 14″x10″. The floor tom is a 16″x16″, and is paired with a matching 18″x18″ cocktail drum. Rounding out the setup is a 20″x18″ bass, a 10″x3.5″ timbale, and a 13″x3.5″ cocktail snare. The setup possibilities are endless! The matching 18″ cocktail drum can double as a 2nd floor tom, or can be used as a single floor tom with the 14″ rack for a big rock setup. The 10″ and 12″ rack toms can be mounted on the 18″ cocktail drum, along with the 13″ snare, for all types of smaller gigs. A 10/14/20 setup for jazz night? No problem! Phunkie Phatties in Coke Bottle Green

This beautiful example of Coke Bottle Green features 10″x8″ and 12″x8″ rack toms with special order Yamaha-style mounts, 16″x14″ floor tom, and a killer 20″x18″ bass. Coke Bottle Green is one of the best acrylic colors around, and for good reason, check it out:
