Finished in White Pearl, this nesting cocktail kit features a vintage style shield logo on the front of the drum that adds a great touch of class. The 10″x8″ rack tom, pedal, and hardware fit inside the main 16″x24″ nesting cocktail drum. The special order 13″x6″ snare resides in it’s own case, for an easy one-trip load in. Steam Bent 1-Ply in Natural Satin Lacquer

With a tone that’s warm, organic and highly desirable, the Steam Bent kits are also a joy to look at. This set shows off the grain of the 1-ply maple with a simple satin lacquer finish complimented by Radio King style chrome hardware and matching chrome-wrapped maple bass hoops. The sizes include 10″x7.5″ and 12″x7.5″ rack toms, 14″x14″ and 16″x14″ floor toms, and a 20″x16″ bass drum. A versatile setup that’s getting a workout with drummer Lemuel Hayes. Check it out:

Black Label jazz kit in light Birds Eye with Abalone inlays

This Black Label set recently came back through the shop on it’s way to a new owner. The finish was freshened up and the beautiful results can be seen below. At the core are the 100% maple 8-ply shells in a 12″x8″, 14″x14″, and 20″x16″. A veneer of light Birds Eye Maple and a 1/4″ strip of Abalone are protected beneath many layers of a perfect satin lacquer for a stunning, yet subtle finish. Radio King style hardware and heavy duty spurs complete the package, for a “retro-mod” style kit. The best of what’s old combined with the best of what’s new, in a very classy package. Check it out:

A Modern Cocktail Kit in classic White Marine Pearl

This unique cocktail kit features a modern vibe with it’s offset-woofer construction of the main drum and larger tom/snare sizes, but a classic White Marine Pearl finish and Radio King style lugs to keep the vintage vibe going. The main cocktail drum consists of an 18″x16″ main bass and 18″x8″ floor tom/woofer suspended above it. The snare is a 12″x6″ with more room for brush work over our smaller sizes, and the 12″x7″ tom offers a deeper tone more inline with the 18″ drum. Vintage style “Big Band” kit, with the HCL bass system installed…

We first began producing the HCL bass system in early 2008 with great results and positive reviews from drummers near and far. The HCL system is based on the Haskell theory of sound waves, providing a drum that acts as both a small bass drum and a large woofer, and is tuned for optimal low-end response. The 20″ Batter head on the 28″ bass is positioned to provide the same pedal feel and response as a 22″ bass drum. This kit was created to capture the feel of a Big Band kit from the era when Radio Kings and Rolling Bombers were the drums of choice. The toms are 12″x8″, 14″x14″, and 16″x16″, each with inlayed wood hoops. The bass is a 28″ HCL system, and the snare 14″x7″ with single-flanged hoops. Pre-Aged White Pearl and Radio King lugs round out the package for an exceptionally classy setup.

Teak Steam-Bent Snare with maple reinforcement rings, beauty!

This is a beautiful 14″x6.5″ Teak 1-ply snare. The shell was bent by Vaughncraft, one of the best companies for in the world for steam bent shells. The main wood is Teak, with Maple 1-ply steam bent reinforcement rings. Finished in a semi-gloss oil base urethane, hand rubbed to a perfectly smooth sheen, and complimented by reproduction Radio King lugs, classic single-flanged hoops and clips, and a modern Dunnett R-class swivel strainer. Here’s a unique drum we recently built for our friend Murph. We provided a flat-black lacquered cocktail kit with traditional radio-king style hardware and had it shipped over to Igor of Igor’s Customs in Virginia Beach. Igor did the amazing pin striping job, and here’s a sneak peek at the final product. We’ll get some great live shots as soon as we can catch Murph playing this thing live. For now, here’s a peek:
