Phattie kit with unique sizes, gong drum, and beefy tube lugs

With a variety of unique sizes and features, this Phattie Custom Shop kit is a real head turner. The 10″x10″ rack tom, 14″x12″ hanging floor tom, 16″x12″ gong drum, and 26″x10″ bass drum all feature a deep walnut-to-black satin lacquer burst. Natural maple laser-engraved badges compliment the finish, as does the satin black powder coating on all the hardware. Gauger Alloy RIMS mounts are standard equipment on Phatties, while the genuine Pearl spurs, 12-lug bass drum, and custom painted Yamaha style wood hoops were customer spec’ed to make this kit something special. StarGlow Acrylic Custom Phattie Set

A beautiful example of StarGlow acrylic, this one comes with a video sample so you can check how smooth and even the glow of our low profile LED systems are. The drums are standard Phattie Acrylic specs: dual 45 degree bearing edges with a smooth contact patch, solid brass tube lugs, Gauger Alloy RIMS mounts, Evans heads, etc. The sizes include 10″x10″, 12″x11″, and 13″x12″ hanging toms, 22″x18″ bass and 14″x7″ snare drum. This custom LED install includes double-density LED’s and a custom controller that offers independent control of individual channels. The final result is a smooth looking kit, with or without the lights on. Check it out:

Here’s another great example of our exclusive Puzzle Glass Glitter, this time combined with themed wooden badges and powder coated hardware that really compliments the overall vibe. Drum sizes include fast rack toms in 8″x6″, 10″x6.5″, and 12″x7″ with Alloy RIMS mounts; 14″x12″ and 16″x14″ floor toms with Alloy RIMS cradles; a thumping 24″x20″ bass and a 14″x8″ 30-Ply snare drum. The hardware is powder coated solid high-gloss blue and the badges are laser engraved and profile-cut to match the kit. Phattie Hybrids with Quick Action Drum Lugs

This fresh set of Phattie Hybrids features the new Quick Action Drum Lug all around, with custom RIMS mounting and bass hoop lugs. The Quick Action Drum Lugs are a quick-release style lug that works different than other quick release lugs on the market. Once all the tension rods on a head have been loosened, you just turn the hoop to the side and they all slide right out of the lug. This system is also designed to not interfere with the RIMS mounts. Heads can be removed and swapped while the drum stays on the stand, no problem! The lug inserts stay on the tension rod when the hoops are removed, preventing the tension rods from sliding off the hoops, getting lost, etc. This function is the same on the bass drum hoops, when the hoop comes off the tension rods can’t slip out of the hoop lugs, they stay attached, making head swaps a piece of cake. Solid Maple Black Label with Abalone Inlay

This is one of the classiest kits I’ve been given the opportunity to build recently, and I couldn’t be more excited about how it looks and sounds! The foundation started with Vaughncraft single-ply steam bent maple shells. Then a 1/4″ strip of real abalone shell was inlaid around the center of each shell and then coated in a satin-lacquer finish. Classic Radio King style hardware was used all around, but with a twist: All the hardware on this kit was hand finished to a vintage brushed-nickel style feel to compliment the satin finish and vintage vibe. The final sizes included a 13″ rack tom w/alloy RIMS mount, 16″ floor tom with alloy RIMS cradle, and a 26″ bass with heavy duty spurs. Here’s one of the hotter projects to leave the Custom Shop this week. The toms are 10×8, 12×8, 14×14, 15×14, with a matching 24×16 bass and 14×6 snare. The fade is a custom satin lacquer, featuring oxblood over a dark walnut base, faded to ebony over oxblood on the hoops. The snare features a Yamaha batter hoop painted to match the fade. The contrast with the black nickel hardware turned out great, and the Gauger Alloy RIMS and Gibraltar STL-3 leg mounts really set it off. Check it out:
