The previous blog post featured the crazy 7-piece Phattie Puzzle Kit. Today we take a close-up look at the snare, a 14″x8″ 30-ply beast with an incredible amount of projection and killer rim shots. All the standard goodies were included on this build: Trick GS007 strainer, Puresound wires, Evans heads, VSS maple shell, etc. Custom touches include the laser engraved & personalized wood badge, 7/8 offset lugs, die cast hoops, stainless steel allen bolts inside, and the 30-ply shell construction. This smooth Black Label bop kit is enroute to it’s new home in Norway. Featuring several custom touches that really lock in the vintage vibe, this kit sounded just as good as it looked. The wrap is actual vintage gold glass glitter, made from a different type of crushed glass than the current glitters that are manufactured. The result is a deeper shimmer under bright lights that looks amazing in person. The deep and sparkly True Black Glass Glitter is quickly becoming the color to have this year. Black Label kits look beautiful in this color when combined with the traditional Radio King style hardware, this kit being no exception. Specially ordered with some unique sizes, a 10″x8.5″ rack tom, 14″x14″ floor, and a thumping 22″x20″ bass make up this drum set. Diecast hoops and Dunnett spurs round it out for that old-school vibe with a modern touch. Check it out:
This unique cocktail was created for euGENE Wendell, and is one of the more unique and versatile cocktail kits I’ve done recently. The finish is a rare and discontinued Peacock Pearl, I was able to snag the last few sheets from a friend in Nashville, just enough to make this versatile setup. The main cocktail drum features a 18″x16″ main drum with an 18″x8″ woofer attached. The tom is a 13″x9″ with custom built wood hoops, and the snare is a 13″x6″ with diecast hoops. The list of custom touches includes Phattie badges, a Dunnett R-Class strainer with quick-release snare change ability, DW/Dunnett quick release spurs for setting up the main cocktail drum as a kick drum, and XLR jacks installed in each drum for internal mic’ing.
