This hot little 13″x8″ hybrid was built for our friend, great drummer, and hardcore Phattie fan Dave Irish. The blue glass glitter edges and black chrome hardware was spec’ed out to match his Phattie kit. You can check it out here, perfect match! Phattie Hybrids with Quick Action Drum Lugs

This fresh set of Phattie Hybrids features the new Quick Action Drum Lug all around, with custom RIMS mounting and bass hoop lugs. The Quick Action Drum Lugs are a quick-release style lug that works different than other quick release lugs on the market. Once all the tension rods on a head have been loosened, you just turn the hoop to the side and they all slide right out of the lug. This system is also designed to not interfere with the RIMS mounts. Heads can be removed and swapped while the drum stays on the stand, no problem! The lug inserts stay on the tension rod when the hoops are removed, preventing the tension rods from sliding off the hoops, getting lost, etc. This function is the same on the bass drum hoops, when the hoop comes off the tension rods can’t slip out of the hoop lugs, they stay attached, making head swaps a piece of cake. Friday Flashback! Blue Glass with a little white powder coating…

Today’s Friday Flashback is from early 2003, best I can recall. Phattie kit in Blue Glass Glitter with Adonis lugs, and white powder coating all around. The sizes were (or were close to) 10″x7″, 12″x8″, 14″x12″, 16″x14″ and a thumping 20″x20″ bass. The blue & white combo is sharp looking, and you could never go wrong with Adonis lugs, check it out:

This Phattie Hybrid kit features Navy Blue acrylic center sections against Blue Glass Glitter wrapped around the 6-ply maple bearing edges. This blue-on-blue combo works great with the chrome hardware, and upgraded Gauger Alloy RIMS mounts. Sizes are 12″x8″ rack tom, 16″x14″ floor tom, and a 22″x20″ bass. Satin Chrome on a custom Phattie snare

Satin Chrome is a finish that looks classy in any setting, and especially against this silver & blue glass glitter snare. Features include a 14″x6″ 10-Ply maple shell, inlayed silver & blue glass glitter wrap, Dunnett R-Class strainer and die cast hoops. This is a sweet setup we put together for Dave Irish last year, a killer drummer out of Austin. It’s a Phattie Hybrid Series with 8″x7″, 10″x7″, and 13″x8″ suspended toms, a 16″x16″ floor, and a thumping 22″x20″. The maple sections are finished in Blue Glass Glitter with Clear Acrylic Centers, Black Hardware, and a custom bass head with matching logo and “blue-chrome” Holz ring.

Phattie 14″x8″ Hybrid Snare

Here’s a sweet custom build that just left the shop. Phattie 14″x8″ Hybrid featuring a Navy Blue RCI acrylic center section and Blue Glass Glitter wrap on the maple sections. Solid brass tube lugs, a custom order Trick strainer, and super wide 42-strand snare wires really set this drum apart. Lots of attack and projection, but not in a harsh sense, great workhorse drum!
