Phattie Custom Shop Kit with White Pearl Inlays

Another beautiful execution of our Perfect Brown satin lacquer, a beautiful shade of walnut that looks perfect on any drum. This kit features a 13″x9″ rack tom, 16″x16″ floor tom and a 24″x16″ bass drum. Custom touches include laser engraved maple Phattie badges, white pearl inlays centered below the resonant lugs, and our Victorian shield logo on a Fiberskyn head. In the words of the new owner:

“The drums got here just like you said and they are great! I took everything out and hit each piece seperately and everything sounded amazing. The toms were so big and punchy and didn’t need any muffling at all which is really hard to come by. The bass was HUGE and sounded like it was mic’ed and EQ’ed perfectly. The perfect brown finish, the white pearl inlays, and the wood badges go perfect together. Definitely some of the best work, I couldn’t ask for a better kit. Can’t wait to use this at my next show! Phattie 14″x8″ Acid Etched Copper

Another sweet addition to our copper veneer lineup, this 14″x8″ Phattie delivers a fat back beat and has plenty of surface area to show off the killer finish. Standard features include solid brass tube lugs, a 10-ply VSS maple shell, Trick GS007 strainer and Puresound wires. Custom features include black-chrome hardware, the acid etched copper finish and laser engraved Phattie badge made from maple. Another sweet drum off to it’s new home, check it out:

The 14″x7″ 10-Ply Phattie is the workhorse snare in the Phattie lineup. The shell thickness and depth combined with the Phattie bearing edge give it a wide tuning range, and the extra wide and smooth snare beds give it a ton of sensitivity at any dynamic range. This workhorse is laminated with a thin layer of acid etched copper for a true one-of-a-kind look and features a custom laser engraved wood badge. Phattie 13″x8″ Hybrid, Blue Glass Glitter w/Black Hardware

This hot little 13″x8″ hybrid was built for our friend, great drummer, and hardcore Phattie fan Dave Irish. The blue glass glitter edges and black chrome hardware was spec’ed out to match his Phattie kit. You can check it out here, perfect match! Phattie 13″x7″ White Sparkle with black accents & hardware

The 13″x7″ has recently become one of our most popular sizes. The slightly smaller diameter with a little more depth makes for a great sounding blend of attack and depth. This one has the good looks to keep up with the sound, featuring a white sparkle wrap with black gloss inlays. Black hardware with 50% offset lugs are the perfect compliment for a smooth modern look. Today’s great little setup includes a great blend of modern and classic touches. Sizes include a 10″x8″ rack tom, 16″x16″ floor tom, and 20″x16″ bass drum. Finished in our Perfect Brown satin lacquer with True Gold inlays centered under the solid brass tube lugs. Black plated hardware gives a nice contrast to the finish, while a DW rail mount and shell mounted cymbal holder add a little bit of vintage functionality to the overall package. Check it out:

Today’s kit is a great blend of custom drums and classy touches. The finish is a deep Modern Mahogany satin lacquer with classy True Gold glass glitter inlays spaced perfectly under the resonant side lugs. 14″x5″ Sounds Like Art Dragon in Steel Blue

The 14″x5″ Dragon Snare is a fresh new size for 2011. This is the first one to leave the shop featuring 2.3mm hoops and the sound was spot-on, nice and crisp with beefy rim shots. The finish is a steel-blue stain with high gloss lacquer that really pulls out the detail of the carving and contrasts well with the black hardware. Check it out:

Sounds Like Art Dragon Snare with Pewter style finish

Todays post is another great example of the range of custom finishing techniques available on the Sounds Like Art line of carved drums. Big is beautiful! Todays kit features a 13″x12″ rack tom, 16″x14″ and 18″x16″ floor toms, and a 26″x14″ bass. All Phattie 100% maple specs with black hardware and a high gloss lacquered paint job. Aside from being silky smooth with a mirror like reflection this finish is also entirely water based. Less solvents and pollution go into the air, and the final finish buffs out to an amazing shine.
