Wood hoops sound great on Acrylic shells, tone down the brightness a little and add a little bit of a thicker sound. This snare is a perfect example, in 13″x7″ it has a nice phat sound but still a bit of the brightness associated with the acrylic shell. This shell features a frosted finish with clear racing stripes around the bottom, that really pops when it lights up. Check out the video to see the contrast between the two.
