True Black Phatties, with inlayed steel hoops…

Today’s kit features a subtle touch that makes all the difference: inlayed steel hoops. This Phattie kit features 10″x8″ and 12″x9″ rack toms, a 16″x16″ floor tom, and a thumping 20″x20″ bass. Wrapped in True Black Glass Glitter with chrome hardware all around, and inlays on the 2.3mm chrome hoops. This kit also features a flat-black Phattie Girl logo over the gloss black head, for another understated touch. It’s a very cool effect all around, check it out:

Tangerine Glass Glitter is one of my favorite finishes on vintage kits, specifically old round-badge Gretsch setups, but it looks just as great on this new set of Phattie drums. The sizes are 10″x8″, 12″x9″, 14″x12″, and 20″x20″, standard Phattie Classic Series with all-maple Keller VSS shells, black-nickel plated hardware, and our new spurs and claws. Tangerine and black, a very nice contrast:

Emerald Green Satin Lacquer Phatties

Today’s kit features a 12″x8″ rack tom, 15″x15″ floor tom, 20″x20″ bass drum, with a matching 14″x7″ snare. The finish is a deep Emerald Green satin lacquer that looks perfect against the black hardware. The snare features a Dunnett R-Class strainer and the bass has a custom Phattie Girl logo head. Sometimes a simple finish combined with the right hardware color is all you need, check it out:

Black to Grey Satin Lacquer Burst

Contrasting nicely with the Black Chrome hardware, this smooth black to deep grey burst with slight purple overtones looks great! This setup includes hanging rack toms in 8″x7″, 10″x8″, 12″x9″, and 14″x12″ sizes with a 20″x20″ bass. Here’s a custom job we just wrapped up for Zane with As Sick As Us, a local group that is making some waves. You can check them out tonight at the Boiler Room with Straight Line Stitch. Specs are 10×7 and 12×8 rack toms, 14×12 floor on a suspension cradle, 20×20 kick, and a massive 14×7 snare with 42-strand wires. The wood sections were stained inside and out, while leaving the bearing edges and joint overlaps natural maple. The contrast turned out great, check it out:
