The 14″x7″ Dragon Snare from the Sounds Like Art series is one of the most popular sizes we craft. The thick shell provides projection, a crisp sound and thick sounding rim shots. The depth gives the drum a lot of body, with more tone than most people expected from such a drum. Today’s post features a Black Label snare in the popular Perfect Brown satin lacquer, but with a few custom touches that set it apart from the rest. A 1/4″ Pre-Aged Pearl inlay is beautifully centered in the middle of the shell and goes well with the cold rolled steel hoops and vintage style claws. The 8-Ply Maple VSS shell, Trick GS007 throw off, Puresound snare wires, and solid brass tube lugs are all standard features. Distressed Acid-Etched Copper on a 14″x7″ Phattie Snare

The latest addition to the Copper Collection is this dark “Distressed Acid Etched” finish. Featuring black undertones with shiny streaks of copper between them, it has a much more earthy and dark look than the Blue-Etched and Drip-Etched finishes. Featuring a 10-ply maple shell in our popular 14″x7″ size, this Phattie snare sounds as good as it looks. Black plated hardware, a Trick GS007 strainer, Puresound wires and solid-brass tube lugs make for a stunning package. Check it out:

StarGlow Acrylic Custom Phattie Set

A beautiful example of StarGlow acrylic, this one comes with a video sample so you can check how smooth and even the glow of our low profile LED systems are. The drums are standard Phattie Acrylic specs: dual 45 degree bearing edges with a smooth contact patch, solid brass tube lugs, Gauger Alloy RIMS mounts, Evans heads, etc. The sizes include 10″x10″, 12″x11″, and 13″x12″ hanging toms, 22″x18″ bass and 14″x7″ snare drum. This custom LED install includes double-density LED’s and a custom controller that offers independent control of individual channels. The final result is a smooth looking kit, with or without the lights on. Check it out:

Black Label 14″x7″ Workhorse with Cold Rolled hoops

This 14″x7 Black Label snare drum features 4mm thick cold rolled steel hoops for a great wide-open sound. Thicker than traditional single-flanged hoops, these 4mm steel hoops provide a great wide-open tone but have thick rim shots similar to a diecast hoop. Combined with vintage-style claws over a perfect brown satin lacquer, this is one classic looking beauty. Check it out:

The 14″x7″ 10-Ply Phattie is the workhorse snare in the Phattie lineup. The shell thickness and depth combined with the Phattie bearing edge give it a wide tuning range, and the extra wide and smooth snare beds give it a ton of sensitivity at any dynamic range. This workhorse is laminated with a thin layer of acid etched copper for a true one-of-a-kind look and features a custom laser engraved wood badge. Steam Bent 14″x7″ Maple Snare Drum, Paua Abalone Inlays

Another drum that doubles as a beautiful work of art has rolled out of the shop! This 14″x7″ snare drum sounds every bit as good as it looks, featuring a 1-ply maple shell with 1-ply reinforcement rings that support a wide bearing edge with a full round over. 1-Ply steam bent hoops are the perfect upgrade and give the drum a nice fat sound and a timeless look. Custom touches include 1/4″ Paua Abalone inlays in the center of the shell and both wood hoops, brushed-satin finished hardware and matching stainless steel fasteners all around. A Dunnett R4 strainer with quick-release, Evans heads, and Puresound wires complete this package. Check it out:
