This Friday Flashback dates from early 2006. This jungle/hip-hop/dj-drummer style kit features a 10″x6″ Hybrid Snare Drum, Lime Acrylic 12″ snare, 10″ and 14″ toms, 18″x18″ bass drum and matching woofer. Custom features included all brass hardware, 50% offset lugs, Gauger Alloy RIMS mounts, matching woofer, brass-wrapped bass hoops, and Dunnett R-Class strainers. Starglow Acrylic kit for The Next

Nothing glows quite like our Starglow white acrylic. This kit is going to get some serious use in the clubs of the north east with The Next – a hot new group featuring the talented Anthony Baker on drums. Phattie kit with unique sizes, gong drum, and beefy tube lugs

With a variety of unique sizes and features, this Phattie Custom Shop kit is a real head turner. The 10″x10″ rack tom, 14″x12″ hanging floor tom, 16″x12″ gong drum, and 26″x10″ bass drum all feature a deep walnut-to-black satin lacquer burst. Natural maple laser-engraved badges compliment the finish, as does the satin black powder coating on all the hardware. Gauger Alloy RIMS mounts are standard equipment on Phatties, while the genuine Pearl spurs, 12-lug bass drum, and custom painted Yamaha style wood hoops were customer spec’ed to make this kit something special. Black Label set with a Birds Eye Maple veneer and Paua Abalone inlay

Today’s kit combines a beautiful birds eye maple veneer, deep golden amber stain, and a 1/2″ Paua Abalone inlay all buried under a high gloss lacquer. The sizes include 10″x7″ and 12″x7″ rack toms, a 14″x12″ floor tom, and 20″X14″ bass drum. Custom touches include DW brackets, a double tom holder mounted on the bass drum, and die cast hoops. This one turned out to be quite a head turner, check it out:

Phattie 14″x12″ Marching Snare

Beefy and light weight aluminum tube lugs, laser engraved wooden badge and custom painted Yamaha style wood hoops make this drum the most unique marching snare we’ve done in a while. The shell is a 14″x12″ 8-Ply maple finished in Pre-Aged Marine Pearl. The beefy aluminum tube lugs are powder coated in a satin chrome style finish that goes well with the aluminum finish on the Trick GS007 strainer. Yamaha style wood hoops finished in our Perfect Brown Satin Lacquer complete the sweet look and sound of this drum. On the back of the drum there is also a d-ring and strap mounted for marching & playing. Definitely a cool piece that’s going to get a lot of use, check it out:

Black Label 30′s style Trap Kit

With the recent Top Hat & Cane kit, we took it back to the 40′s with the finish and the 50′s with the hardware. Today we step back another decade to the late 20′s and mid 30′s with a true Trap Kit style build. Built with the goal of capturing the sound and style of the era with modern touches that make it tour-ready. The sizes include a 14″x5″ main snare, 14″x12″ field drum/snare, 16″x14″ floor tom/cocktail drum, 22″x10″ bass, and an 11″ traditional Chinese tom. The long list of custom touches includes pre-aged and inlaid wood hoops, an original 1920′s/1930′s Ludwig wood block, a clip-on tom mount, reproduction 3-point style strainers, low-boy hihat stand and much more. Here’s another great example of our exclusive Puzzle Glass Glitter, this time combined with themed wooden badges and powder coated hardware that really compliments the overall vibe. Drum sizes include fast rack toms in 8″x6″, 10″x6.5″, and 12″x7″ with Alloy RIMS mounts; 14″x12″ and 16″x14″ floor toms with Alloy RIMS cradles; a thumping 24″x20″ bass and a 14″x8″ 30-Ply snare drum. The hardware is powder coated solid high-gloss blue and the badges are laser engraved and profile-cut to match the kit. New house kit for Sound Temple Studios

Robert George recently opened up a beautiful new studio here in Asheville. Sound Temple was designed as a “sacred recording space” that is also a world class recording studio designed by renowned studio designer Wes LaChot. The new Phattie house-kit for the studio features 10″x8″ and 12″x9″ rack toms, 14″x12″ and 16″x14″ floor toms, 22″x16″ and 18″x14″ bass drums, and a 14″x7″ snare. The drums are all maple and feature an ebony & cherry inlay around each shell that compliments the black-chrome hardware. Quick little demo of the Echo Mountain house kit…

Mike Rhodes took a little time from a current session down at Echo Mountain to demo the house Phattie kit. This sample was recorded on a Zoom Q3 with no additional mics or editing, just the raw sound off the camera. Sizes used are a 12″x10″ rack, 16″x14″ floor, 24″x18″ bass, and a 14″x7″ snare. Phattie Hybrids with Quick Action Drum Lugs

This fresh set of Phattie Hybrids features the new Quick Action Drum Lug all around, with custom RIMS mounting and bass hoop lugs. The Quick Action Drum Lugs are a quick-release style lug that works different than other quick release lugs on the market. Once all the tension rods on a head have been loosened, you just turn the hoop to the side and they all slide right out of the lug. This system is also designed to not interfere with the RIMS mounts. Heads can be removed and swapped while the drum stays on the stand, no problem! The lug inserts stay on the tension rod when the hoops are removed, preventing the tension rods from sliding off the hoops, getting lost, etc. This function is the same on the bass drum hoops, when the hoop comes off the tension rods can’t slip out of the hoop lugs, they stay attached, making head swaps a piece of cake.
