Today’s sweet snare drum features the best of what’s old and the best of what’s new in true Black Label fashion. This 13″x7″ maple snare is wrapped in pre-aged pearl with matching inlay installed in the “perfect-brown” satin lacquer hoops. Full length tube lugs and classic hoop claws contribute to the vintage look while a Trick GS007 brings a modern level of functionality to the party. Check it out:
Wood hoops sound great on Acrylic shells, tone down the brightness a little and add a little bit of a thicker sound. This snare is a perfect example, in 13″x7″ it has a nice phat sound but still a bit of the brightness associated with the acrylic shell. This shell features a frosted finish with clear racing stripes around the bottom, that really pops when it lights up. Check out the video to see the contrast between the two. This Phattie snare features a Pre-Aged Marine Pearl finish, a beautiful finish that looks just a little creamier than White Marine Pearl, for a classy appearance. The 10-Ply maple shell combined with the deep 13″x7″ size sounds incredible when tuned up into the higher ranges. Very tight & articulate sound, but with plenty of body and oomph. This unique build features our popular Burnt Sienna Satin Lacquer with a dark airbrushed burst that carries onto the great sounding Yamaha-Style maple hoops. Both the visual and acoustic effects of this kit are over the top! The main drum is 18″x24″ and provides a deeper thump than our standard 16″x24″ cocktail drums. The snare is a beefy 13″x7″, and the rack tom is a traditional 12″x8″. The Yamaha-style hoops provide a nice deep tone to the drums and great cross-stick action on the snare. A vintage style DW Rail Mount was used to mount the 12″ tom, and provides a large range of movement that allows the tom to be placed in a more traditional trap-kit style setup. A Dunnett R-Class strainer, internal Shure Beta 52A and a full set of Protection Racket cases completed this setup for a “ready-to-rock’n'roll-in-only-one-trip-to-the-car” dream kit!
