This Friday Flashback dates from early 2003…geeze time flies! This kit included 8″, 10″, 12″, 14″, and 16″ hanging toms and a 22″ bass, all finished in a bright orange satin lacquer with black hardware. This was also one of the first kits that rocked our new Phattie logo in the bubble-badge that we used until switching to the chrome-plated badges. The matching orange Phattie logo on the bass was a nice touch, check it out:
Buzzcocks launched their North America ANOTHER…BITES Tour last night at the Black Cat in DC. Drummer Danny Farrant is rockin’ a fresh set of Black Label drums on this tour, featuring a 12″ rack tom, 16″ floor, 22″ bass, and 14″x5″ snare in Silver Glass Glitter. Contrasting nicely with the Black Chrome hardware, this smooth black to deep grey burst with slight purple overtones looks great! This setup includes hanging rack toms in 8″x7″, 10″x8″, 12″x9″, and 14″x12″ sizes with a 20″x20″ bass. Many drummers dream of having a single kit that can be configured for any gig. Occasionally a drummer makes that dream come true! This beautiful Perfect Brown Satin kit includes wood hoop toms in 8″x8″, 10″x8″, 12″x9″, 14″x14″, 16″x16″, and 18″x16″ sizes. Steel hooped toms in 12″x9″, 16″x16″, and 18″x16″ sizes. Bass drums include two 24″x22″, a 22″x20″, a 22″x10″ woofer, and a conversion kit for the 18″ wood hooped tom to be used as a bass. Snares included a 14″x4″ 10-ply maple, 14″x6″ 15-ply maple, and a 14″x8″ 10-ply maple. This variety of sizes allows for dozens of unique configurations that cover any gig. From a small 3-piece bop kit to an arena rock setup, the configurations are nearly endless.
This kit featured chrome tube lugs, our Perfect Brown Satin Lacquer finish, and custom Fiberskyn logo heads with a Victorian-style shield logo. Not all drums are pictured below, but here’s a taste of the setup possibilities:

Bronze Acrylic is perhaps one of the perfect colors for Acrylic kits, up there with our popular Coke Bottle Green. Lighter than the Smoke acrylic, it lets more light through for a great stage presence, but dark enough that its not totally transparent. This kit features a 12″x9″ rack tom, 14″x12″ and 16″x14″ floor toms, and a thumping 24″x18″ bass drum. Finished with chrome hardware and chrome-wrapped maple hoops, it’s one smooth looking setup:
