Virgo is a mutable sign, meaning that these characteristics aren’t tried-and-true. But if you want to place ’em all in one category, you’ll find that they’re generally solid people — grounded, have a foundation upon which they build everything (thought or planning), and at their best when they’re balanced.
A Virgo man in love is a very particular flavor really only meant for those with the most discerning palates. He is the caviar and truffle oil of the zodiac’s lovers. In other words, if you’re more of a meat and potatoes or hot-dog and bag of chips sort of person, this may not be a match made in heaven.
Both the Capricorn woman and the Virgo man have practical natures and tend to be realists. Both are ambitious and will work together to achieve success. A relationship between the two might not be filled with lusty passion, but it will be one of steady commitment.
This can be frustrating when you’re looking for affection and you’re feeling particularly feely. They won’t reciprocate and don’t seem to get it. If that’s the case, you’ll need to relax. Take a step back and realize that’s just not how they operate. They’ll show you their feelings in other ways soon enough.
To attract a Virgo, use the part he most admires: your brain. Let him know that you’re intelligent and have a wide range of interests. Don’t brag; Virgo hates braggarts. If you’re smart enough to be with a Virgo, demonstrate this to him without being too “over the top.”
If you can gain access to it, trust that all Virgo men have a master wish list of all the things they’ve been hankering for tucked away somewhere, indulgences for which they’re saving up their pennies to purchase eventually.
Your Virgo will have his own unique personality traits. This article talks about sun signs, however there are many other factors. For example his moon sign determines his emotional personality which affects whether he is sensitive, romantic, loyal etc.
Co-dependence is the Virgo man’s co-pilot. Many of his relationships start while he’s helping a “friend” get back on her feet. He has a knack for finding women who’ve fallen on hard times: divorce, death of a loved one, recovery from abuse or alcoholism. He loves to be there, comforting and shepherding you through the grieving process, holding your hair back as you puke up your soul. He’ll listen to your troubles with a therapist’s patience, knowing that his foolproof strategy will work once again. The damsel in distress always falls for the noble knight. And if the knight just happens to gallop off once she’s restored to well-being, that’s just how fairy tale might end. He never promised you Happily Ever After just because he picked you up on a white horse. But he’ll never throw you off the horse before shepherding you safely back home.
So, better play on the safer side. A Virgo man doesn’t like dumb females, who are ignorant and stupid. You may be the hottest babe in the block. But, if you do not have brains, he wouldn’t even look at you. Impropriety and rudeness turns him off. So, forget wearing that short, revealing black dress of yours. His kind of female has to be clean – body, mind and soul. If you want to win the love of a Virgo male, make sure that you have impeccable manners, spotlessly clean house, excellent cooking skills and decent dressing sense. He is prone to finding faults in others, but please don’t give him specifics reasons to do so in your case.
They are constantly involved in helping them and have a strong sense of work and duty. Too much display of emotions makes them uncomfortable and too conscious. A Virgo male will stick to you when you need him the most, care for you and dutifully carry out all the responsibilities a husband is expected to do. However, don’t burden him with extreme sentiments, mushy affection and tearful promises. If he doesn’t run away, he will become too cold and even the subtle display of affection from his side may come to a stop.
Unfortunately, the Virgo man is often critical of others, leading him to have difficulty in finding a woman to form a solid relationship with. Instead, he is selective in his choice for love, failing to find someone for a long time if at all. His selectivity leads him to release a lack of control in dealing with the situation since so few women meet his specifications.
Virgos are often portrayed poorly in this area, directly or indirectly considered the least sexual of all the signs. The reality however is that they are amongst the most sexual, they’re just discreet about it, often offering subtle and indirect comments rather than anything too blatant or vulgar. Don’t make the mistake of assuming he’s a prude or you may miss some of the best one liners!
He may not make a big deal of your relationship turning serious, but know that he’s probably thinking about it. When he’s opening up to you easily, trusting you, allowing you to be his rock, know that you’re in. You may not get your name up in lights, but you’ll get a constant love that is eternal.
Ultimately, the Virgo man needs a bigger cause than patching up strays. His astrological duty is to serve humankind. He must find his mission, his life’s work and calling. Unless he is contributing to the greater society, or at least a noble cause, the Virgo man is adrift at sea. He will squander his gifts by playing the enabler and co-dependent hero. He’ll take on women’s problems, when he should really march them to the nearest therapist’s couch. And he will walk away from amazing women—with whom he is highly compatible—simply because they don’t need his rescuing.
Analytical, discriminating, precise, considerate and reliable, he is likely to enjoy work of a technical or analytical nature, quite possibly working behind the scenes to ensure the efficiency of an organization, rather than taking center stage or seeking direct recognition for his achievements.
While sometimes opposites attract, the differences between the Sagittarius woman and the Virgo man may be difficult to overcome. Virgo may see the Archer as careless, flighty and irresponsible; while Sagittarius might find him boring and hate his constant criticism.
To sum up the Virgo man in a single word, it would be “practical.” He sees things as they are, with no sugar coating. Virgo is a down-to-earth, hard-working guy who sees no need for unnecessary outpourings of emotion. When he has strong feelings about something, he usually keeps them to himself. Likewise, he tends to prefer the company of others who are similarly reserved.

Know he’s more practical than poetic. When it comes to romantic gestures, your Virgo man won’t be into writing you songs about your left pinky toe. That’s just not useful. Why would he waste his time doing that? But he will offer you his sweatshirt when you’re cold; he will open the door for you; he will give you the perfect gift on your anniversary because those things actually are meaningful. That’s the good stuff, anyway. Who wants a poem about their toe?
A Virgo man can easily turn into an inveterate worrywart without enough tasks and projects to keep his thoughts occupied. People born under the sign of the Virgin take well to owning responsibility for themselves and their work, and love to find ways to be of service to others (though they can easily turn resentful if they continually martyr themselves in situations with no reciprocity).
Since he thinks everything out, your dates together will be planned and extravagant in their own way. He’ll take you to a restaurant that he knows is good and knows exactly what to order and what to say to the staff to get the best table. He’ll plan a night with the details so perfected that you wonder how he makes it look so effortless.
On the negative side, he can sometimes be seen as picky, aloof, sarcastic, pessimistic or whiny. He assumes everyone views him with the same critical eye that he possesses, which can sap his self confidence. Ironically, he is likely to be more perfect than most of us, yet he’s the only one who can’t see it. This level of self imposed modesty can be particularly endearing.
Understand his hesitancy to act. Virgo, as described earlier, doesn’t jump to anything — from relationships to conclusions. He needs to plan everything out — how else would he know if it’s perfect and, above all, acceptable? So when he doesn’t give you that grand display of love right off the bat, don’t get your heart all a-flutter. He needs time. Allow him that.
Virgo is not the guy to go to when you need to cry on someone’s shoulder, and he’s not enticed by the “helpless female” act. He prefers a partner who shares his analytical approach to life. He wants to talk about what he considers to be serious subjects, such as life, philosophy, politics, and religion. Try to avoid dumping your emotional baggage on him, or you just might scare him away.
If you’re interested in a Virgo man, be friends with him first. Virgos are not passionate, ready-to-jump-into-bed creatures. They like to know exactly what they’re getting into. The will not get caught up in a whirlwind of romance. So be friends first! Show him that you’re the real deal and his interest will spark.
He won’t be so stubborn and will be open to doing things you want to do because he wants to make you happy. He’ll slowly start making that pros and cons list and you’ll be on the winning side. If you really want to blow his mind, do a 10,000 piece puzzle on the second date. He’ll be in heaven and think he’s finally found a woman who understands him. Thinking of having an outdoor date? Well, take Virgo man golfing. Keeping track of all those little balls equals hours of entertainment for that detail orientated little creature.

Virgos love to collect odd little treasures, especially items found in nature, and so their parlors and offices can come to resemble the wunderkammers (or wonder-cabinets) of 18th century Naturalists, stuffed with interesting shells, bird’s nests, and bizarre taxidermy. Everything must be labeled accordingly, kept immaculate and dust-free (ideally behind glass), and compartmentalized according to his own internal systems. A little reclusive, a Virgo man prefers to stay at home once he’s gotten it all fixed up just how he likes it.
Keep your conversations down to earth and direct. Excessive displays of “personality” may ultimately lead him to think you’re pretentious. What he’s really looking for is a steady partner with real depth.
This is where the man child part of his personality appears. If something doesn’t go his way, he’ll become critical of absolutely everything in his life. His shirt doesn’t fit right. That movie on T.V. looks lame. That actor can’t act. His soup is too hot. Ten minutes later…his soup is now too cold. It’s like a toddler that doesn’t want to eat his peas. He’ll whine and throw a fit until you give him something else. With the Virgo man, you just have to give him alone time when he behaves badly. He’ll come to his senses and realize that it’s not actually your fault that his shirt doesn’t fit right since he is the one that’s been packing on the pounds lately.
Expect class. You know that thing about perfection? How can things be perfect if they aren’t the best? This Virgo also expects things to be nice. Not necessarily the most expensive (actually quite the opposite — more on that later), but definitely well-put together and thought out. He can take a simple t-shirt and jeans and make it look classy because of the thought behind it. That’s how the relationship will go!
Virgo wants his partner to be real. Who wouldn’t? While they like nice things, brands don’t mean anything to them. Simple and chic resonate with them much more than accessorized and expensive. You should be the thing that shines strongest, not that shiny bracelet you’re wearing.
