If he tells you about his feelings. In my experience, Cancer men are able to keep their deepest sides to themselves. They keep a tight rein on those deeper emotions, but if he doesn’t clam up, if he lets you see inside his shell, even just a peek, he’s definitely interested.
Secretive – Cancer men have a hard time just spitting it out and telling you what’s wrong because they never want to be the bad guy they’ve made themselves out to be in their own heads. Because of this, they also have a hard time admitting when they’re done with the relationship, and they are often caught cheating because they didn’t have the heart say it was over and they found someone else. Though on a good note, being so secretive is part of what keeps the mystery alive for most women involved with Cancer men. She can never be sure what he’ll be up to next. He might just be hunting down the ultimate Valentine’s day gift for her.
Kim Manners, a director of several X-Files episodes, said that the Smoking Man was the show’s version of Darth Vader. Some X-Files fans have categorized the Smoking Man as evil, making him out to be the villain. Series creator Chris Carter once called him “the devil”, producing a mixed reaction among fans. Some fans, along with the portraying actor, see him as a hero, as he is forced to make choices others are not.
If you’re able to pick up on other peoples emotions this is a wonderful, caring and warm sign, and everything you’ve read about them being nurturing and supportive is true. Possibly the most perfect partner you could wish for. If you aren’t sensitive enough, or can’t be bothered to nurture him at appropriate times, then your perfect Cancer lover may become increasingly distant and argumentative as your tally of neglect grows.
Scorpio: Both are empathic, intuitive and intellectual. Cancer can handle Scorpio’s ability to be vindictive where Scorpio can help Cancer through its worrisome cycles. In many ways, it is thought both water signs are the perfect match. See Scorpio and Cancer post.
The Taurus woman and the Crab make a great match. Both signs are warm, loving, and loyal, and the Bull will supply the emotional and financial security that Cancer needs. The Crab and the Bull will work together as a team to achieve like-minded goals and have an excellent chance of creating a comfortable home and a loving family.
When in love, the Cancer man is a dedicated lover. He’s a total dream come true for someone who loves to receive affection. He can come off as the ultimate Prince Charming, making extravagant professions of adoration and writing flowery love letters to court you. But, once comfortably ensconced in a committed relationship, the connection can become more cozy than steamy. Cooking you dinner and settling in for a night of Netflix may become more his habit than hot bedroom action so that chemistry needs to be stoked, and intimacy kept vibrant with lots of touch and the willingness to always go deeper.
Make the first move. Cancers tend to be shy, so gather up your courage and approach him first. The key is to present yourself in a non-aggressive way. Introduce yourself and cement your existence in his mind, but never push or pry your way inside his personal bubble, especially if he seems uncomfortable.
I am a Scorpio Women and I am madly, deeply, irrefutably and sadly in love with Cancer men. EVERY WORD, I repeat every single word written in this article is true. Even he can’t refuse this …. If tell you cancer men that you know them and even if you really do, they won’t accept it because of their ego. They don’t like to be known…they like to be understood. This morning I had fight my cancer men and oh my god… they are so difficult.. believe me.. One second he is sad and the other second so angry as if I have betrayed him, which I didn’t. Their mood swings are more than the women in period.. Cancer men are the most moody personalities you will ever find. They will love you and drive you crazy. Don’t dare say a word or argue with them when they are angry or else they will simply go back to their “Shell”. This goes true for cancer men, “You can love ne, you can hate me but you can’t ignore me”. I love my Cancer men so much.. The moment you hate, is the moment they will do something really sweet and you will find your guilty for hating them.. They don’t open up at all.. They want a clean, organized environment. I am Scorpio women and really untidy and so we fight often because of that. They love their MOTHERS like anything… Sometimes its frustrating.. If I say something, my BF doesn’t believe but when the same thing goes through his mother, that things become golden words.. it is annoying but I can’t help it.. I love him and I can’t live without him..

The common advice is to tell Cancer that you love him 20 times a day. While that certainly works, it misses the point that they want to be understood. One genuine and passionate “i love you” at the right time is worth 20 random ones.
Emphasize your love of family. You should talk about the love you have for your current family as well as any dreams you have about marrying and starting a family of your own. Cancer men generally dream of having children someday, so it’ll help your case dramatically if your dreams are in line with his.
Passionate, volatile and exciting the Cancer man has an emotional strength and vulnerability which many find to be highly attractive and uniquely sexy. Deeply caring and sympathetic lovers they will do anything for a partner whom they’re in love with.
This is always a hard question to answer, as one person’s idea of kinky can be very different to someone else’s. Individuals also vary a lot, so this is a bad area to generalize in. All things being equal though, Cancer men are dependent on their mood. At times they can be, and at times they don’t want to be. There is a strong argument that it’s a good thing. Predictable partners get boring much faster. On the other hand if you like to reach for the candle wax at 8pm every Tuesday… sometimes you are going to be out of luck.
Cancer men and Scorpio women just seem to ‘click’. Their watery ways twist and bubble like the intricate swirls in a babbling brook. He is interested in her spontaneous ways, while she is enticed by his sensual charm. These two are highly likely to have a very passionate physical relationship, though it will take a lot of work for their physical togetherness to become more.
This match is usually very good for both partners. Both signs are emotional and compassionate, so they’ll understand each other and there should be few clashes. The Pisces woman is generally upbeat, so The Fish will provide positive juxtaposition to Cancer’s moodiness and will often be able to predict her partner’s mood swings with amazing accuracy.
Due to the above in the long term this is an all or nothing man. He often does better with a strong but caring partner, rather than an ultra-sensitive one. This is a man who sometimes needs a partner to tell him to shut up and just kiss him. Debating, analyzing, justifying moods, behavior etc may get the job done eventually, but it’s very counter productive.
With his date, time and location of birth these other factors can be calculated for a complete picture of his personality. To explore this further please see my article on astrology compatibility readings.
Show off your homemaking skills. After you get to know him a little, take the initiative and show off your ability to keep house in a very traditional manner. One of the easiest ways to do this is through cooking. Cook up a meal or treat for him, or invite him over to cook a complex recipe with you.
When he smiles, it melts my heart. When I hear his laughter I am happy. I love our friendship and the time we spend together. I am falling for him and yes I am a Leo woman. He is considerate and thoughtful, funny, and charming. He is a home body but we have this bubble that is impenetrable. The simplest things are what he enjoys. He has a passion inside him that takes over me when we are intimate so I hope it’s true when they say love and sex are one in the same for these men because I love him. Are there any Cancer men out there that can give me insight on this: a friend of his told me, without prompting from me, that he said he loves me but he hasn’t told me how he feels at all. Do I just wait for him to tell me or should I open up about my feelings to him?
Keep in mind, however, that the Cancer man is a little more withdrawn and may resist your affections if he believes that you’re coming on too fast. Inviting him back to your place for a meal the first time you meet him will probably end in rejection. Wait until you have already established some sort of bond with him before you extend an invitation into your home.
Artistic – Oh boy! There are very few signs that are as artistically gifted as Cancer. He could be the greatest guitar guru, creative on canvas, or skilled with the skill saw. No matter what area he feels drawn to master, there will be no avoiding his artistic side. Not that it’ll be a problem, as it just makes him sexier.
This is a delicate relationship, but that’s part of what makes it so wonderful. These two water signs come together emotionally, like crashing waves, for a deep, churning, tumbling kind of union. They also come together creatively and have compatible imaginations. He will be slightly more practical than she is, and she will be his rock in stormy weather.
He is soft, loving, considerate, and nurturing to those he cares deeply for – but always remember that those born under the sign of the Crab have a hard shell to protect their vulnerable underbelly, and pincers to protect themselves when they feel attacked.
A Cancer man not only understands how you think and feel, but thinks and feels the same way. You could even say that he is fluent in female. He understands your emotions, respects your healing process, and takes your moods seriously.
In his first appearance in the series, he oversees FBI agent Dana Scully’s (Gillian Anderson) briefing and debriefing, and later disposes of evidence Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully had brought back from their investigation of an alien abduction. With the Smoking Man hiding truth from the public, Mulder seeks to reveal it to the public and the truth about the disappearance of his sister, Samantha. This leads to a rivalry that lasts until the end of the series.
As an aside, Cancers (men and women) do particularly well when working from home so they can be close to family. However, if the male is single and lives alone, he should be working outside of the home.
Compliment him. Offer a kind word about his appearance, his skills, or the way he makes you feel. Compliments make your Cancer feel good about himself, and he can appreciate a woman who gives him the sort of buzz you’ll provide whenever you tell him how wonderful he is.
You’ll need to be assertive, but indirectly so. Persistence is important here. Show him that you’re genuinely interested in him by continually making the effort to approach him. A Cancer guy can be a little insecure at times, but once you calm those insecurities and demonstrate that your interest is real and lasting, he can feel comfortable enough to develop his own attraction and affection for you in return.
On the other hand, if you’re willing to subdue your inner diva a little in exchange for his nurturing and guidance, to offer your appreciation and be wowed by him, he’ll work his ass off to keep the stars in your eyes.
Ask him to help you organize your space. If you do have a cluttered area, tell him about it before he finds out on his own by asking him to help you organize it. The appeal of this petition is three-fold: you’ll make him feel needed, you’ll appeal to his natural love of organization, and you’ll demonstrate a willingness to become less messy and more organized yourself.
The Smoking Man is the only character in the series, in addition to Mulder and Scully, to appear in both the first episode, “pilot” and the last, “The Truth” of the series.[original research?] Portraying actor William B. Davis was listed as CIA Agent in the first season episode “Young at Heart”, instead of his usual character, the Smoking Man. Actor Chris Owens for a time portrayed the Smoking Man as a young man in flashbacks. He later plays his son, Jeffrey Spender. Young Cigarette Smoking Man was first played by Craig Warkentin, with Davis’s voice dubbed over in “Apocrypha”.
At the same time, the Smoking Man was an aspiring writer of espionage (and later, science-fiction) novels starring a fictional version of himself, Jack Colquitt, and based on his own secret activities, but all his drafts were rejected or altered by publishers who found them unrealistic and poorly written. This left him no choice but to continue working for the United States government. By 1991, the Smoking Man’s power was pretty much absolute. He was in direct talks with Saddam Hussein and involved in one way or another on the Anita Hill-Clarence Thomas controversy, moving the Rodney King trial to Simi Valley, keeping the US government from interfering in the independence of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Academy Awards nominations, keeping the Buffalo Bills from ever winning the Super Bowl, drugging the Soviet goalkeeper Vladislav Tretiak before the Miracle on Ice, and executing extraterrestrials that survived landing on American soil.
Hello Hopelessly Confused! Thank you for your comment, and I’m sorry it’s taken so long for me to get a reply to ya. Finally got a newerish computer. So, now that I’m back, just in case you’re still hoping for some of my thoughts, or if someone else comes a long in search of the same info, here’s what I have for you, from both my experience and my cancer man’s thoughts.
Should arguments occur, Cancer men will engage in “makeup sex” however, there are limits. Example, don’t look to the bedroom for emotional healing if you cheat on a Cancer guy. He’s not going to go for it.
A male Cancer’s intuition is highly developed, but that can sometimes be limited to people residing within his own den. This sign is all about their own tribe, and sometimes need to be lured out of their shell and their comfort zone in order to really grow. A Cancer man can be consumed with longing and nostalgia for things of the past – which, if channeled creatively, can inspire him to explore history and the world of myth. If not, you may encounter a barnacle-encrusted relic of former glory days who fears progress and change. Beware when you hear a Cancer constantly bemoaning the loss of “how it used to be.”
2. Is it possible that you’re being very clingy or needy? Some signs will find this ultra attractive and endearing, sometimes even a cancer man with the right moon. Though if your cancer man is really fiery or earthy, he’s likely to scuttle away the minute you show any potential for becoming a permanent invader taking over his limited shell space, even if he seriously likes you. Hell, even if you’ve been perfectly sensible in your communications, needs, or pda with him, he could still do that. It just depends on what level of commitment and expectations he’s grown to prefer or at least put up with.
The good, bad, and ugly on the Scorpio man Are you attracted to a Scorpio man? Trying to understand how Scorpio men operate in love and relationships? Hoping to gain better insight into this water […]
Davis was included in Entertainment Weekly’s list of the 50 Biggest Emmy Snubs, the list’s author saying that the presence of the “Cigarette Smoking Man” was as important as “black oil, alien implants, and Scully’s skepticism”. The Malaysian newspaper the New Straits Times called the Smoking Man one of the most “intriguing” characters of the show. However, Christianity Today said that the mystery behind the Smoking Man had evaporated by the late season episodes. Likewise, Ken Tucker from Entertainment Weekly felt that “the monotonous evil of Cancer Man” had “become actively annoying” in later seasons of the show, being that his lurking presence did not seem as mysterious anymore. Salon reviewer Jeff Stark felt the show was at its best when you “didn’t exactly know the motivations of the Smoking Man”.
This guy is all heart. He’s like a big, sloppy, pulsing heart encased in a hard, protective shell. Although you might not be able to tell just by looking at him (he has an excellent poker face), he needs that tough exterior for protection. He leads with his heart, not his mind, and is therefore extremely affectionate, sensitive, thoughtful, intuitive, caring, and easily hurt. He is an expert in emotions—both his and yours— and makes an excellent life partner.
Do Cancer men really hate to be teased, even insulted even if only playfully? I’m a Scorpio female who always comes across as a nice girl and oh so predictable, so I tried to opt for the playful insult to shift that perception a bit and build attraction, but something tells me it was more like a turn off for him. How then do I build attraction with him ?
Fans of the series were active in debating if the Smoking Man was actually dead after the events of the season five premiere “Redux”. In his first response, Chris Carter said he had left clues in the episode, and he later officially announced that the character would appear in The X-Files movie. In one of his last comments on the matter, he said, “Not that we haven’t brought deceased characters back before, in flashbacks or more paranormal ways. The great thing about The X-Files is that anything can happen.”
One important piece of information to keep in mind is the protective nature of Cancer when it comes to friendships. They don’t handle criticism of people they care about well. It is just part of their cosmic DNA.
Cancers can easily get into a vicious cycle of working their butts off for long shifts, and then coming home to collapse and recover before doing it all over again, ad nauseam. When they vacation, they prefer to do so for longer than most people (at least a month at a time) so that they can fully immerse in relaxation. Six months of grueling work with no time for fun is doable for them, as long as they have a dangling carrot luring them toward the promise of lazy days on the beach. This extremism can result in burnout and neglect of their own needs, and friendships outside of their partner and children frequently fall by the wayside when a Cancer man is in work-mode.
