On January 18th, 2012, Dennis Stauffer, founder and builder of Phattie, Black Label, Cocktail, Sounds Like Art, and Steam Bent Drums, died in a car accident. We are all heartbroken by this sudden loss, learning how to move forward without him day by day. Dennis was a brilliant one-man show who managed all aspects of Stauffer Percussion in addition to building each and every drum himself. In his absence, I will not be able to accept any new orders or handle warranty repairs. While Stauffer Percussion will not be able to continue in its current form, it is my intention to explore ways for his various brands to live on as a legacy of his passion, craftsmanship and creativity. It is my greatest hope that Dennis will be remembered through his creations located across the world.
