Tuesday is for Puzzles

This unique set of Phattie drums features a puzzle finish made from sparkle drum wrap. The sizes on this kit are 10″x6″, 12″x7″, 16″x14″, 24″x20″, and a matching 13″x7″ snare. This is an exclusive finish to Phattie, and we’ve got another kit in the works right now that features different colors and is built from Glass Glitter, not sparkle, which has a different look to it with a lot more pop. Check back for photos of that kit in a couple of weeks. In the mean time, here’s a few good shots of our unique puzzle finish made from a sparkle base:

Black Nickel over Flat Black wrap, smooth set of Phatties…

This unique Phattie setup featured a heavy duty Flat Black wrap with Black Nickel hardware. The sizes include 8″x7″, 10″x8″, 13″x12″ and 15″x13″ toms, with a 22″x18″ bass. This allows for a tight two-up two-down setup while keeping everything nice and close. The Flat Black wrap with glossy black nickel hardware looks killer, check it out:

80% Copper + 20% Zinc + 14″x5″ = One great little snare

This is a one-off custom snare recently wrapped up for Chris Thompson with the Eli Young Band. He’s been touring with a Phattie 14″x6.5″ Black Brass snare for the last year, and was ready for something with a little more bite to it. This drum fit the bill perfectly! The shell is 14″x5″ and 1/16″ thick with rounded bearing edges. It’s tricked out with a Dunnett R2 Throw-off that features a quick release feature for quick head changes without having to take off the snare wires. Ten solid-brass tube lugs and the heavy die-cast hoops give this drum a bite that the deeper and thinner 14″x6.5″ just didn’t have. Burnt Sienna Phatties, with matching wood hoops…

This drop dead gorgeous kit features our popular Burnt Sienna burst with satin lacquer top coats. The finish extends onto the Yamaha-style wood hoops for a smooth look, and really sets this kit apart from the off-the-shell alternatives. The sizes are 12″x7″ rack tom with Chrome Optimount, 14″x12″ floor tom with legs, and a 22″x20″ bass with a custom Phattie logo on the head. This sweet little set of custom Phattie Drums featured a 10″x6″ rack tom, 13″x12″ floor tom, and a 18″x16″ bass. Custom touches include chrome Tear Drop lugs and a custom mixed Black Cherry satin lacquer. The thin maple Keller VSS shells and our unique Phattie bearing edge profile provide a huge sound from this little package, check it out:

Emerald Green Satin Lacquer Phatties

Today’s kit features a 12″x8″ rack tom, 15″x15″ floor tom, 20″x20″ bass drum, with a matching 14″x7″ snare. The finish is a deep Emerald Green satin lacquer that looks perfect against the black hardware. The snare features a Dunnett R-Class strainer and the bass has a custom Phattie Girl logo head. Sometimes a simple finish combined with the right hardware color is all you need, check it out:

Black to Grey Satin Lacquer Burst

Many drummers dream of having a single kit that can be configured for any gig. Occasionally a drummer makes that dream come true! This beautiful Perfect Brown Satin kit includes wood hoop toms in 8″x8″, 10″x8″, 12″x9″, 14″x14″, 16″x16″, and 18″x16″ sizes. Steel hooped toms in 12″x9″, 16″x16″, and 18″x16″ sizes. Bass drums include two 24″x22″, a 22″x20″, a 22″x10″ woofer, and a conversion kit for the 18″ wood hooped tom to be used as a bass. Snares included a 14″x4″ 10-ply maple, 14″x6″ 15-ply maple, and a 14″x8″ 10-ply maple. This variety of sizes allows for dozens of unique configurations that cover any gig. From a small 3-piece bop kit to an arena rock setup, the configurations are nearly endless.
